I took the plunge today and joined a local golf course. I did the right thing and joined the cheapest local course I could find.

I’m feeling pleased with myself as I avoided the course I really wanted (1500.00 in the first year), as well as my other preferred choices (ranging from 720.00 down to 490.00) and paid just 295.00

You could argue that I could’ve not joined a course at all and just paid as I went and possibly paid less, but I want an official handicap and want to commit to getting out and getting more fresh air and exercise. (I did give up my gym membership last year and just pay as I go, which is good since I went last week for the first time since last May and have saved a fortune)

I played the course first on Saturday and went back to join on Sunday. I paid and played 9 holes.

It’s a very good course and I’m looking forward to getting an official handicap for the first time in 10 years and getting back into playing regularly
